Checking in 💕

  • Hey ladies,

Not sure about anyone else but I feel like I've been in a bit of a funk the past few days, just finished this mornings workout and even though I feel a bit better I don't feel the endorphins running as much as usual! Haven't been sleeping great with college stress so think that might be something to do with it 😴

Just before my workout today my favourite shorts ripped when I went to put them on and I think that was just the final straw for me but still didn't give up on the workout, the hormones are definitely flying about this week 😅

Just wanted to check in and see how you queens are doing, I've noticed some queens that are usually quite active haven't been and just wanted to say I'm sending lots of love to everyone ❤️
I think with it being a year in lockdown and with rumours of extending lockdowns in Ireland I've personally been finding the last week or two tough. I'm sending everyone so much love and maybe if you need a rant you can pop it on the thread here and we can all support each other ❤️ I'm always just a message away if anyone needs a shoulder to lean on, it could be just me with my hormones this week but I think it's been tough 💕 lots and lots of love queens xx

  • @Niamh Byrne awh niamh, ur such a sweetie!!! Feeling a bit tired last wk and this wk but trying to motor on through!!!!! I'm hoping you are all doing ok too  I think we r judt tired after the challenge maybe!!!!

I cabt believe ur shorts riped, that's enough to push anyone over the edge!!!! I started todays workout too late and had to pause b4 core to collect kids from school..... not the same jumping back into it after!!! But hey we did it! We got it done girl!!!! Sending you all lots of love!!! Hope the hormones  stay at bay for another few days niamh!!!!!!

P.s I bought my strong band.... I really hope I can use it.... its sooooooo pretty!!!!

  • This was me about 3 weeks ago for around 2 weeks. Complete funk and not going for it. This is my second month in a row and not sure if it's hormones or burnout. Even with 2 days of rest, I was STRUGGLING!!

I've tracked the last run-up to my period to see what's going on and to see if it's the same thing next month. I'm in superwoman mode right now and everything is flying lol

I noticed Maeve also seem to be finding it hard, maybe the challenge was longer, we were pushing ourselves for a longer amount of time killing it. I don't know...I love when Maeve kills us and hate it when she doesn't ha!!

As for the news today, if I hear any more about not opening up due to numbers I'm going to crack. The numbers have gone up since the kids have gone back to school and not a mention of it. I believe Ireland has the hardest restrictions over every single country most of the queens are in, at least the UK has the end in sight. We can't even get the over 70s vaccinated. SMH!!

  • @Niamh Byrne not that I'm glad someone else feeling same...... but if it's any consolation I read most of the night and slept for about 20 minutes as my mind was racing. Then was close to tears all day. I did perky peach and felt a bit better but not much. I can't wait for a break from work at Easter. It's just all going on too long. Chin up, it can only get better. X

  • @Niamh Byrne Awh girl I'm so glad someone else feels this way! I'm trying everything to get out of it myself🙄 upping my water, taking a few days off and even going to bed earlier... I'm feeling I might be hormonal too I mean maybe we're all syncing up how mad would that be haha. Anyways hope you feel better soon chick. We should all schedule a Queens zoom pamper night in with prosexy and facemasks 💜

  • @Niamh Byrne awww sweetheart you are so good 💕💕 this is what our beautiful community is all about- supporting each other and lifting each other up! I feel that funk too and I think it's a combination of stress and the anxiety of lockdown extensions! We all need to be kind to ourselves and realise that some days will be harder then others. Chin up hun- there will be light at the end of this dark tunnel! So much love xx

  • I totally feel you💕 I did 2 workouts last week and couldn't motivate myself to do anything apart from eat! I was just so fed up of getting up, going to work and having nothing to look forward to apart from another walk at the weekend 🙄

I've just completed today's perky peach and hope this is me turning the corner! It's so difficult bit all we can do is take it day by day 🙏

  • *writes while eating chocolate* 🍫

Aw @Niamh Byrne, I absolutely feel the same. I took 3 days off to enjoy the sunshine and go for long walks and it was so hard to get back into the routine today. I enjoyed the workout but I felt like my body was working out while my mind was on the couch! I am not quite exhausted physically but mentally and I think the lockdown (especially in Ireland) is definitely the one to blame.

I think the new challenge will make us feel better as it will be something to focus on and look forward to. And ordering the new band yesterday was just the start, I'll be so excited to have it on in the next challenge!

  • Hey Niamh and Queens!

Thanks for such a lovely post and I'm sorry to hear how you're feeling ❤️! I felt similar last week, the energy was so low, cramps were bad, did the hiit party on Sunday night anyway and didn't know whether to laugh or cry, definitely felt better but not the same endorphins either. (nothing to do with the workout, definitely just my own mood) 😂

That's another reason I do love Maeves workouts, being able to drop to beginner and go in between when you aren't feeling great is good.

Definitely feeling it this week as I missed the start of the last challenge, I really want to be part of the next challenge! Starting a course two evenings a week this week, plus working full time desk job (so much sitting!) has me really worried about energy levels and missing the challenge! Thank you for posting this because I honestly felt so similar last week and I really hope you're OK and this week goes better ❤️❤️

  • Hi ladies 👑

Struggling with it all big time at the moment too. It just feels never ending. The brighter evenings have given me a bit of a boost lately but I am just so fed up of not being able to see my family. Isn't it strange how it comes in waves? Some weeks are ok and then others just feel so off 😂

Sending love and strength who everyone who needs it 💕 someday this will be a distant memory and we'll all be back to fabulous holidays and making memories with friends 😊

I'm really excited for the new challenge starting soon, I feel like it'll give me a good focus! X

  • @Niamh Byrne Sending all my positive vibes your way!

I hope you got a chance to have a break on the reading week! I am tutoring for some undergrad classes so I have been up to my eyes with grading for the past few weeks!

I was in a total funk up until this week but really focusing on routine and sleep hygiene and I am starting to feel better. I did the Hiit Party on Friday and had to stick to all beginners because I just couldn't move! But got yesterday and today done (Whoop!) and now feeling the flow starting to come back.

A friend once told me that energy breaths energy and I honestly believe it!

But I totally get you with the lockdown. I am so sick of it, and as ridiculous as it sounds I just want to go to pennys and buy some socks and undies! I haven't bought any in a bleeping year!

I watch Simon Harris' live Instagrams when he does them. I like him because he doesn't politicise it at all, he welcomes criticism of the government, he will go through the covid news, pay respect for people who have died, but then will really try to highlight anything good that is happening. Yesterday he was talking about the nursing homes being open for 2 visits a week from yesterday which was on the news but the kind of headline I wouldn't pay attention to, but is actually really, really good news. He is empathetic and is the most human of anyone in government I reckon. I have all my family watching him now as well, even though we all have different political beliefs! He never says anything he doesn't think is true, and yesterday's live he was really trying to put across that he believes we will have a lovely summer when we can socialise which was just really nice to hear! - again, I am super not trying to push a political agenda or anything like that, just something that I have found really helpful when I get into a funk!

I hadn't heard of QDQ when the Spring Queens started so I am SUPER excited that I will get to take part in the next challenge!

  • @Niamh Byrne Awh queen you're just such a lovely soul for checking in and I hope you're feeling a lot better today 💕

I think there is definitely something in the air cause like the rest of you lovely ladies I've just felt awful mentally and physically. Hormones and emotions are at an all time high and throwing covid on top of it is just so draining.

My body was in so much pain over the weekend started with the calf, travelled to my lower back and hip joints and now today it travelled to my head and it's just a sign of me not looking after myself and really feeling the restrictions today (I'm a beauty therapist and been out of work since Christmas Eve) and just waiting to hear when I can go back to work 🤷‍♀️. Yesterday I had a proper meltdown cause I woke up exhausted and in pain and the show I wanted to watch was off the planner and I dropped my toast on myself 😂 needless to say I went back to bed and had a cry 😂. But today I decided to try one of Sinead's Pilates class and it helped wonders even just with breathing and just collecting thoughts and peace ☮️.

But ladies we will get through all the madness, I am here for all you ladies and to be your biggest supporter and cheerleader. I know things may seem crazy and out of control but just take a deep breath and remember to just take it day by day 💕 I'm a firm believer in everything happens for a reason and it guides us on our forever path, QDQ is a perfect example of that 💕

I still count my blessings that I am apart of this fantastic group and being in a positive environment to help each other in any shape or form 🔥💕💕

  • @Niamh Byrne so kind as always! and I think we are all feeling it at moment... I have'nt made class this week yet and yeah lockdown life is getting to me! defo in the air

I totally get why you are stressed with college etc and lack of sleep never helps and I think if my shorts had ripped would have sent me over edge too!! 😬

We all got to support each other and reach out and think you are amazing checking in with us. The next challenge will boost us fingers crossed and maybe Michéal will give us some nice news for April 🤣 can only hope

Hi to all you fab Queens and see you tomorrow dx

  • Aw queens I'm emotional reading all these, the love and support on here is just phenomenal 🥰🥰 I'm definitely taking it easy this week to try refresh myself. In a way it's nice to know I'm not the only one feeling a bit down, maybe it's the moon (or the Irish government 🥴😂). I really hope you are all doing okay, thank you for your kind words as always queens 💕 sending so much love to you all and hopefully we'll all be flying again soon 👑💕

  • @Niamh Byrne Aw Niamh, I hope you are doing ok, and that Combat Queens helped work some of it out this evening! 👊👊👊👊👊

I think in part it might be the notional ending of one challenge- it became a focus in one way, even just tracking what week it was etc, and like in reality I think you would have been like me and doing at least 3 workouts every week even without the challenge?! When the new schedule and classes are back I've no doubt you'll get your mojo back! I was the same with perky peach yesterday, felt a bit lethargic and like I was just going through the motions and not getting the same buzz as normal.

Just focus on - Lent is nearly over and you can have chocolate again!!! Grand stretch in the evening, and clocks going forward soon! Another day closer to vaccine. Another day closer to your heavy band arriving (I ordered it too, eeek!) Actually- what treat are you looking forward to most after Lent?!?!

Always here if ya need anything at all xxx

  • @Sammi Trev I love watching his live chats as well! He comes across as very genuine. He does a good job at helping you find the small positives in the midst of it all 🤗

  • Oh also- full moon on the 28th and its a super moon so that could be part of it too hahah!

  • @Ailbhe Harding He had a lovely one this morning really highlighting the positive things happening despite the doom and gloom!

@Sharon Scully I HATE full moons!! it always screws with me! I don't care what anyone says, it totally messes with me!

  • @Sammi Trev Oh it's fully a thing!!! If you follow Denise Kenny on instagram she does this really simple ritual each full moon where you write down the bad vibes and what negativitey is holding you back currently, and you then burn the paper to release them out from you! Definitely worth a try, we need all the help we can get at the moment 😂

  • @Sharon Scully Oh I love her!!! She is how I discovered QDQ!! She had up that she was doing Sinead's pilates class so I had a little look and discovered this amazing community!!I have seen the ritual but maybe this is the sign that I need to do it this month!!
