Hydration Station: The Importance of Water

We all know that water is crucial for the body and especially during these summer months when the weather is hot and we are sweating more. Let’s talk about water and why your hydration station should be one of your top priorities.

Water affects every aspect of our bodily function starting with the most important part of our bodies; the brain. The brain consists of roughly 85% water. Staying hydrated helps thought and memory processes increasing your ability to concentrate for longer periods therefore you can work harder, push yourself harder in workouts and be more clear and present in your day!

Skin: Staying hydrated is vital to maintaining healthy, glowy, clear skin. Inadequate hydration means the skin cannot rid itself of toxins leading to a greater risk of irritation and clogged pores which can cause issues such as acne red skin and itchiness. If drinking water gives us skin like Hailey Bieber then you can bet we will all be refilling our Queens Don’t Quit Reusable bottles non-stop!

Muscles: When we do our QDQ workouts, one of the reasons we feel amazing is because we’ve gotten our sweat on and worked and toned our muscles. Water inside and outside of your muscles helps keep them functioning with nutrients and removal of toxic acids that build up during exercise. So, hydrating before and after your QDQ workout is crucial to help aid your recovery from your sweaty sesh! 

Kidneys: Queens don't accept any toxicity in our lives and that includes in the form of toxins in the body! Our kidneys help to remove toxins from the body using water to flush away impurities in the form of urine. So, drink up ladies and say goodbye to toxicity!

Digestion: When you make some of the delicious recipes from the QDQ app, it’s so important to drink water with our meals. Water in conjunction with fiber aids the digestive process by breaking down waste particles before they pass through your digestive tract. So beat your post-dinner bloat with some water! 

It can be hard for some of us to get that water down but here are some tips to ensure you are hydrated at all times throughout your day! Add some fruit to your water like lemons or limes - these also help to aid digestion. Add a splash of your favorite sugar free Mi Wadi or simply add some ice to make it colder and more enjoyable! TikTok is a great place to get inspiration on different water flavour combinations and create your own flavoured ice cubes! You can also set reminders or alarms on your phone to help ensure you are meeting your desired water intake. 

We recommend for all of our queens to drinkat least 2 liters of water everyday and more if you are working out or spending a lot of time in the sun! The summer is a time where it’s easy to become dehydrated so make your QDQ bottle and your spf your two new best friends!
