Just wanted to say how much I love doing these workouts, not just because of the great tunes, fun chats and the spice 🌶🌶🌶. But also because of how accessible they are, which is something so many trainers/gym classes don't offer.
I have arthritis in my knees & ankles, which is sometimes fine and other times leaves moving my joints really painful. Usually during a flare I would stop going to the gym because I know I can't join in with the classes, I then become more unhealthy and can get quite down.
But the last couple of weeks I have been in a flare and working so been quite tired but still doing some workouts. I absolutely love that I can pick and choose between beginner/advanced moves where necessary. And I know that as my joints improve I will work back to the advanced moves I was doing a month ago!
I'm not doing these workouts to lose weight, and I don't see much difference, but I am soo much stronger which I am loving. And that will only help my health as well.
Big thanks @Maeve Madden!
Hi
i joined beginning of September and I have toned up so much. I use to go walking a lot in the summer but the weight never shifted. But these work outs are the best because they make you a lot stronger and more shapely. The best of all you keep going 😄
@Zoe Price I take my hat off to u Queen for showing up & getting ur workouts done. But more importantly for listening to ur body, for altering ur levels to suit u when necessary that is so important. A few of us here wld have similar problems with our knees and ankles also, arthritic and non arthritic, so we can definitely empathise with u. For me it's my back which in turn causes a lot of trapped nerves in my legs but the workouts & stretching soon sorts that out. But I will tell u that I also use a gel which was recommended to me by a friend who does suffer with Rheumatoid arthritis, its called Pernaton made from mussels. It can heat up where & when necessary or it can cool any inflammation. I swear by it. I sometimes put it on affected areas before the workouts & it really helps. Zoe Queen, u're a real inspiration, showing us that when the going gets tough, u show up & knock it out of the park no matter what. U're a star 🌟 With u all the way doll. 👑👑👑❤️❤️❤️
@Zoe Price awh queen that's fantastic to hear!!!! I love it so much too, it's more then a workout for me and I just love all the interaction on this!!!!! So glad ur able to play around with workouts and choose whatever best, that should be d way gyms are ran!!! This suits everyone and the price point is amazing!!! Keep on smashing it queen xxx
Ah thanks so much @Carmel Mulvany and @Audrey Browne! This community is soo lovely and supportive, this is another thing that makes it soo nice, less negatively competitive than gyms can be!
Thanks for letting me know about that gel, will take a look at it and check with my doctors if it is something I can try.
12 week challenge complete!!
My pictures don't show a massive transformation, but I'm ok with that. I know I am stronger, fitter and more flexible. I have loved the workouts soo much, sweaty 7s is still my favourite but I even enjoy @Lottie Daisy putting the Sally plank challenge on now!
Thanks so much @Maeve Madden for all the work you have put into these! This year has been the first time that I have truly enjoyed working out.
Looking forward to seeing what we can all continue to achieve in 2021! And hopefully I will finally nail the push up!!
I have found these workouts really help my arthritis, I did all the things before to strengthen the muscles around my joints and nothing worked. I would take time off like you and get massages to manage the pain and now I don't need to do either. I started from the beginning with Maeve where we kept progressing and I think taking it back and working my way up has made all the difference. I used to be the queen of modifications and now I can do just about everything except some random floor routines.
You look amazing but as you said it's more about a state of mind. Couldn't agree with you more!
@Pam Curry thank you! And I totally agree I think that being able to start at the beginning with Maeve and slowly progress was really helpful. It's a situation that is soo rarely possible, as most classes start assuming a certain level of fitness, but I think it's definitely part of the reason that I am still going.
