New runners shin splints | MaeveMadden

New runners shin splints

  • Hi queens! Wondering if anyone could help me out here. I got superrep go runners this week and have worn them for 2 workouts one of which was combat queens. But during the work out my shins started to hurt and were a little sore for the rest of the day then. This hasn't happened me before with my older runners doing these workouts but they weren't special support runners or anything, I used to get cramps in my feet with them which is why I bought new runners. Just wondering has anyone else experienced this with the superrep go? Will it wear off with wearing the runners more or will I need to get different shoes instead? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!

  • @Aisling Bolton I also bought the Superep Go trainers but they were a little bit too small so I returned them. I tried using them with a skipping rope for 20 minutes to get a feel for them before I returned them. I also found that my shins were really sore after using them. I wasn't sure if it was because the were too small or if it's because I'm not used to skipping. Strange you have the same though, I found my shins were sore for a couple of days after and I never get pain in my shins. I think some shoes maybe perform depending on the shape of your foot etc which is why I've been aprehensive of ordering the normal supereps. I've just ordered the Metcon 3 trainers, they should arrive on Monday so hopefully won't have the same issues.

I think if you're still finding issues then you should returning them. This is whats annoying about shops being shut and not being able to try on shoes before you buy them. Normally the Nike stores have the treadmill that you can try out the shoes on before buying as well.

  • Thank you! Yeah I kind of figured it would be due to the shoes, so I think I'll just return them and look for a different pair. Thanks so much!
