Tummy Trouble | MaeveMadden

Tummy Trouble

  • Hi Queens,

Maeve absolutely love the workouts, first time I have ever really stuck to anything. Had a little break over Christmas but back on track now doing atleast 4/5 workouts per week. I have a pretty slim build, wanting to tone up and get stronger and bulk up my legs but my tummy is the area I am really struggling with. I have a spare tyre that is so difficult to reduce. I do suffer from an underactive thyroid but take medication. In terms of my diet, it is pretty ok, it's the evening times I indulge a little but on a healthy buzz for February to see if it helps my tummy.

My question is, anyone else in this situation and which classes/work outs you would prioritise to try reduce my spare tyre? Any other advice would be so grateful. Loving the HIIT, sweaty 7s and loving Tracey's new class.

Thanks for all the workouts and advice, honestly love it so much! Going to go do Fridays perky peach 🍑 now.

  • Hi @Ruth Burke - delighted you like the workouts, they are such fun! Like you say really helps with motivation to encourage us to stick with it!

In terms of belly fat- unfortunately we cannot target direct fat loss off a specific area, it sucks! It is all individual specific as to where we lose fat off of first, and belly fat is one of the most stubbon areas for a lot of women (actually one way of viewing it is that we have incredible organs unique to women just under our belly and that pouch is there to help protect the organs from external damage1)

There is a good listen in the below that might help explain it better than I can (when in doubt always go wtih the professionals haha):

  • I hear you @Ruth Burke  - I have an underactive thryioid and PCOS - it makes our jounrey all the harder I think. As Sharon says everyone has stubbon areas and specific areas can really not be targetted that easily - I always loose weight on my fingers first (winner - lolz) and then weight on my tummy is the last to go ast. Consistency does pay off though - a few years ago I lost a lot of tummy weight but it took a while (few moths to see a difference) - I am hoping the sping challenge will pay off - so I'll be here with you :-) - for me a leaner higher protien diet and weights always help in addition to cardio so the Queens programme will help us smash it  - see you in circuits on monday xxx
