Side lunge advice | MaeveMadden

Side lunge advice

  • Hi queens

When doing the side lunges I've noticed I don't feel it anywhere, except the back of my knees no matter the stance ?!!

I asked himself to watch me he says they look correct (he's a PT and I also made him watch Maeve and recreate for me 😂)

@maevemadden any tips on them? I'm super slow doing them and I can't seem to speed them up I think it's bcos my hips are suuuper tight . ?! I actually find the advanced move easier to do but still don't feel it anywhere 🙈

  • @Leonie Mcnulty I would be similar enough actually in that I don't think I feel much to them or benefit to them; I have started to rally focus on the glute of the legs as I motion from side to side to try really feel that mind muscle connection in the glute, and also on the inner thigh of the outstretched leg. But will be interested to see other responses to this!

    Hope you are keeping well!

  • @Leonie Mcnulty oh queen i know @Maeve Madden will the know the answer to this - im not the best with describing ways to do things!! hopefully once you sort it you will be flying xxx

  • @Leonie Mcnulty I used to be the same Leonie to be honest, I used to just feel it in my knees but I think after hurting my knee it has made me focus on the muscle so much more! I know maeve will have an answer for you but I used to just take it super slow and really focus on the muscle pulling yourself back up. I definitely feel like Francesca's classes have helped me get my mind to muscle connection right too!

  • @Niamh Byrne I'm really trying this time around with focusing the connection (only since glutes and gains started though🥴) but yeah just can't get it for this, just a strange sensation at the back of my knees, not sore but not pleasant 🥴😂 I'm very bold I still haven't tried francesca's class again🙈 I'll keep at them I'll try and catch Maeve on a live! Thanks girls ☺️
