Evening All!
I just did a Fit & Firey Lean Legs with Maeve (on catch up because I always walk the dog in the morning so I miss all the lives 🙁).
I could feel my calf tightening and twingey, years ago I think it was the same calf that I tore the muscle on. I literally heard it pop and it felt like someone had kicked me in the calf with hobnail boots on. So now I think it has a bit of a weakness in it.
Does anyone have any tips on how to stretch it out? Or should I go and get a proper sports massage? Tips and tricks please ladies xx
@Chloe Smith oh Queen u poor thing. I wld honestly advise u to get someone to have a look at it before u do anything else doll. In the meantime use some ice on it & if u had an inflamatory like nurofen take them which will help. Mind urself Chloe sorry this has happened to u. 🥰 👑 👑 👑 ❤️ ❤️ ❤️
@Audrey Browne thank you for the advice. It's so strange because it doesn't feel like a pull, more like a tight ball in my calf. I had felt like I was doing well with my workouts so it's really annoying to have this hold me back
Hey @Chloe Smith I have a similar issue myself, popped it years ago and it's been twingy and tight ever since. If you don't have one already invest in a foam roller or better yet an electric massager to really loosen up the muscles there. My physio gave me some stretches when I popped it, things like standing on the edge of a step and dropping my heels down, calf raises etc but as Audrey says you're better off getting someone to look at it. It's not the most pleasant but maybe some dry needling at the physio would help if it's really bad? Good luck!
@Fiona Kearns just wanted to say thank you for the foam roller tip! I saw my physio and she did a bit of work but also suggested the foam roller because I need more than just one massage to get me back to right. I now roller after every workout (I stick to low impact moves, no jumping for now!) and it's getting much better!
