Advice on Low Impact this Week Please | MaeveMadden

Advice on Low Impact this Week Please

  • Hey Queens - quick random question for you all. Somehow managed to get a gluten reaction Tues evening (coeliac - oh the joys) and have had a lot of pain and inflammation in my stomach since which isn't unusual. Apart from this week I was still getting min 3 workouts a week in. And I'm hoping by tomorrow I can make the three up. But the thing is, I want to avoid anything that's too intense with regards to abs. Of course I will absolutely listen to my body tomorrow and that will decide whether or not I do any workout but my question is:

Queens who've completed workouts this week - what ones have minimal core work?

    Thanks a million ladies :)

  • @Caitriona Lyons u poor this sorry to hear this. But what a trooper still doing ur workouts. U cld do anyone of them I wld think but i wld leave out the abs & possibly do the beginner /intermediate version of the moves & maybe step rather than jump until ur back to urself again as u don't want to anger the inflammation any more than it is. Also there's yoga 2moro morning. The Barre Ballet did have a lot of core action but u cld have a look to see if it wld suit. I hope this helps but I wld mention it to Maeve as she wld be better to advise. I hope that u feel better soon Caitriona 👑👑👑❤️❤️❤️

  • @Caitriona Lyons hi lovely, oh my goodness I am so sad for you, this is definitely very uncomfortable.  Thanks @Audrey Browne great advice, I would say definitely try the yoga.  Yoga is one of my go to exercises for when im struggling with abdominal craps/bloating.  We do alot of compound movements, like the squats etc and these moves recruit all our muscles.  We are using our core most of the time.  I would say take it easy, join in the workouts where you feel comfortable, beginner moves, you can always just skip the abs and sure get the first 30 odd minutes in.  Remember it is always advised to consult with your gp to be sure everything is ok.  Sending you all our love

  • Hi both, thanks so much for the advice. I managed a lean legs workout in the end and felt great, but it took my body longer to recover than it usually does with both DOMs and fatigue. It was bloody infuriating but in the end rest was best.

New week today though so catching up on last week's workouts and holy crap the HIIT was incredible. Loved Kings and Queen's. Could've done it all day!

    Thanks again!
