Firstly- I absolutely LOVED today's Perky Peach! Wow it was killer and it burned, but I did it all with a massive smile on my face, got my highest burn for a Friday and felt so emotional at the end, ever before the chat turned emotional!
I didn't take any progress photos or measurements, mentally felt I might not have been in the right headspace as I'm definitely using chocolate and wine/prosecco as a bit of a crutch that I didn't want to let go of, but I gave my all to the workouts! Over the 12 weeks I was doing at least 6 workouts a week and I definitely can feel my strength massively improving, and also my fitness- so much so that for the last two months I've been able to run a 5km every weekend with my sister and my niece non-stop! I've also been walking 4km plus most days so I got a balance that worked for me- but for the January challenge am definitely working on those eating habits!
Another gain for me was this forum- being able to reach out when I struggled, and being able to try in some way to assist others when they have needed the same. For me it's about the journey not the destination, and I'm loving being a part of Queens Don't Quit!! @Maeve Madden I can never thank you enough, you have created something uniquely special and so fun here!!!
Hope everyone has a safe Christmas with a difference, big love to all.
@Sharon Scully perky peach was a killer today! And I agree cant wait for the new year challenge but I will be working in those eating habbits with you! Merry Christmas and great Job Queen!
@Sharon Scully Feel exactly the same as you. There is no major phsical difference with me as I also have been drinking a lot more alcohol and eating a lot of crap to get me through this year. Maybe have a bit more definition in my arms and bum but the biggest difference I have noticed is how much stronger this programme makes you feel. Definitely feeling a lot fitter as well which is what the main aim is.
The forum has been such a motivation as it's so good knowing that everyone else is on the journey with you. @Maeve Madden also has managed to find a way to keep the workouts fun and different each time so you actually look forward to exercising. This is normally the toughest time of year to keep it up.
Really looking forward to the next challenge set in the new year and feeling the progress. Will defnitely be joining you in trying to improve my eating habits.
Congratluations queen on comlpleting the 12 week challenge and for how far you have come with your fitness. Have a fab Christmas when it comes and bring on 2021! 💪
Awh queens, you'll have me crying again! The amazing journey we've all overcome so much!!!!! Well done my darling queens and have the best Christmas!!!!! Roll on new year and new challenge xxxx
Thanks for all the replies my lovelies!!!! Genuinely thrilled for everyone who can see progress (and only the teeniest tiniest bit jealous haha) I just wanted to acknowledge that not all progress is tangible and visible, and for me the beaming smile I have during every workout is worth more to me than anything and it dampens the lil ol voice in my head that might be tutting and saying oh if only you had tried harder...like I know using food and drink as a crutch is not the most healthiest (in more ways that one!!) but bloody hell we are fighting our way through 2020 like the combat queens that we are, and that can be enough!!!! And it is enough. 2021 be warned, as we are gonna smash you!!
@Sharon Scully Queen u so proud with how far u have come & all that u have achieved. U've had a fantastic journey & ur journey is still going. Enjoy the ride doll. We all have our crutches queen & that's OK too, but one day soon we won't need them. Wishing u a very Happy Xmas & New year doll. 👑👑👑❤️❤️❤️
@Audrey Browne Thank you so much, our original cheerleader queen! I took a minute off my 5km time this morning, so yep all about that journey!!! Hope you have the most wondeful Christmas and New Years!
@Sharon Scully yeesssss Queen. Delighted for u. 🥰 🥰 🥰 🥰. U too Sharon 😘😘😘👑👑👑❤️❤️❤️
@Sharon Scully you are sooo right!! The biggest progress is not just seeing the physical change but the emotional change too. It's been a tough year for us all but one great thing we can take out of this year is our amazing community of queens 💗
Good on you @Sharon Scully thats really great! It is about the journey, you sound like you have a really positive attitude to it and, look, 2020 has been some year, so enjoy the alcohol and food when you have it! We all need a crutch!! Roll on 2021 👑
