Dumbbells

  • Morning Queens,

Just thought I'd let you know that Aldi in the UK have dumbbells in today, 3 and 5kg. They are only £9 a set, which is soo much better than any others I've found during lockdown.

I'm excited to be starting the new year with some better weights, finally upgrading from my 2kg dumbbells!

  • Thanks Zoe! I got lucky over Christmas and Argos in Ireland had some back in stock! I got 2kg & 3kg, heavier ones were gone but these will get me started & are enough for me! Hopefully some left for any other queens looking 😊😊

  • @Aoife O’Neill the Argos near me haven't had any dumbbells at all since March, picked up 2kg ones in Aldi there because I already have 3s & 5s and I found I just needed a lighter set for higher reps! I find my 5kg ones are very big for holding sideways though so might still keep an eye out. They've been so hard to get since the start of quarantine 🤦🏻‍♀️

  • @Niamh Byrne think I just got lucky! Keep trying, hopefully back in stock soon! 😊

  • @Niamh Byrne I agree Niamh, my 5s are too awkward to hold one sideways, so I hold a 3 in each hand rather than one  sideways. I'm on lookout for a kettlebell , missed the Lidl delivery yesterday

  • @Sinead Toal yeah my 5s are so big and I was raging Aldi didn't have any 5kg ones. Can't find them in Argos either but I'm going to keep a look out. They're fine if I have one in each hand but my hands are way too small to hold one sideways 😂 tried to do halo's with one once and it nearly flew across the room so I stick with my 3s for most of that kind of thing 😂

  • Ahh hopefully you'll both be able to find some 5s soon @Niamh Byrne @Sinead Toal. I was pretty surprised by how much harder 5s are than 2kg - that prob sounds a bit silly I know they are heavier, but I had to give up with them when I tried to use them during an old sweaty 7s every time Maeve used a heavier weight.

  • Searched aldi and lidl but all gone!! Guy in both said people were queing for them!!!

Got some on x fitness last night everywhere is so so expensive but got a barbell and 2 weights- 50kg in total and all removable weights for 45 with free shipping to Ireland!!
