Breakfast Alternatives 🥣

  • Wow, there are so many tasty breakfast ideas here. I'm now getting a craving for breakfast. Thanks so much for sharing all these recipes and ideas.

  • Hi Jenny,

I love porridge but I mix up my toppings depending on my mood and my favourite are:

    - 40g oats, 150ml almond milk with a tbsp of peanut butter and handful of rspberries & blueberries. Can add a tiny bit of honey to make it sweeter too.

    - 40g oats, 150 ml coconut drink, handful raspberries, handful of blueberries, 1 x tsp dessicated coconut and 1 x tsp of honey or maple syrup

    - 40g oats, 150 ml almond milk, 1 tbsp of mince meat (can buy jars of this fruit in tesco), 1 tsp cinnnamon and a handful of blueberries (tastes like minced pie) and you can put a spoon of yoghurt on top to make it like a dessert

    - cook down some cooking apples (4) with 1 tbsp of sweetener, zest of half an orange, juice of half an orange, 1 tsp cinnamon and 1 tsp maple syrup. A big table spoon of this in a bowl of porridge is delicious and 4 apples should give you enough for 3-4 bowls. Again put a spoon of yoghurt on top and it's like a dessert.

I always keep my fruit in the freezer so put the frozen blueberries and raspberries in the bowl with the oats and milk for 2 mins and then add the other toppings for another minute and a half to make it nice and hot!

I have such a sweet tooth when it comes to brekkie so I hope some of these porridge ideas give you some inspiration

  • @Maoliosa Bradley these sound delicious. I love how you change the milk up as well as the fruits.
