Swollen feet and ankles | MaeveMadden

Swollen feet and ankles

  • Hi 🙂 I have a sit down job and have noticed that sometimes my feet and ankles swell up and more specifically I've noticed they are swollen after doing a workout in bare feet. One was the barre ballet which you would do in bare feet anyway and the one today was the HIIT 20 min one from yesterday. Has anyone else had this before?

  • @Jo Gillespie I dont, but I do know that ankle/feet swelling can be connected to your kidneys.

Maybe this would happen anyway but with the compression of trainers it doesnt happen?

This might give you some ideas, or something might ring a bell here - https://www.health.harvard.edu/diseases-and-conditions/whats-causing-those-swollen-feet

It does mention that is is common with some people and there may be no cause other than, that's just what your body does.

Hopefully its not painful or anything.

  • @Anne Hamilton Black thanks. No its not sore just odd. I did a workout today with trainers and the same thing happened but the swelling went down pretty quickly. I do need to lose weight aswell so I wondered if the fact I'm heavier might have something to do with it.

  • @Jo Gillespie Hey Jo😊 i dont get swollen feet or ankles but oddly I get swollen toes haha random and Im not doc or anything but I did read that it could be due to tight calves and all that I do is elevate the feet at night when Im chillin on the couch and just do an extra stretch on the legs.

  • @Shannon Lawless hey! Yeah I've done the legs up the wall thing which defs helps. And I have this hemp active gel that I use just to get the blood flowing and I'm just trying to be more aware of moving more during the day rather than sitting in the same position

  • @Jo Gillespie Heya Queen, I hear u I used struggle with same. When I was at work I used to elevate my feet a little which made a huge difference. I used a little step like the kiddies wld use for sink or loo. I also made sure I got up & walked around just to get the blood flowing again. Also make sure ur footwear are not too tight either. Hope this helps Jo. 👑👑👑❤️❤️❤️
