How often should we workout? | MaeveMadden

How often should we workout?

  • Hi Everyone.

Hoe often should we workout if we're taking part in the #queensdontquitchallenge?

Or in general is there advice on how often you should workout to notice a difference in your body tone. (I completely understand, that everybody is different, but just looking for a bit of advice)

    Thank you 😊

  • @Michelle Kelly hey Michelle, Maeve actually has a great blog post on types of workouts and how often to workout based on your goals so definitely would recommend giving that a go! For this challenge I think it's 3 workouts a week.
Maeve's blog posts are definitely so helpful so would keep an eye on those because like you said everyone is different and I feel like she's best to advise you xx

  • @Niamh Byrne great, thank you very much.

    I'll have a look now 🤗

  • @Michelle Kelly Hi Michelle, as Niamh has said Maeve talks about all the workouts and what ones to do based on your preference.  When i started a year ago i did 3 - 4 a wk and now i do most but that took mths of building up strenght and fitness.  Always go with what ur body is telling you, if you feel tired, rest up and do one the next day.  I actually need to try take a rest day each wk as sometimes im not doing that and end up burning myself out.  I suppose it also depends on your fitness level to queen. Maeve will be doing a new challenge after this one and will let us know how many workouts to hit target, but you can always do more or less depending on your body.  It will take a while to notice physical changes if you are starting off but you will see changes. Its amazing how toned my arms and legs have gotten since i began!! x

  • @Michelle Kelly Hey Michelle, you are right it completely depends on your own goals etc.. We recommend a minimum of 3 workouts per week and on the blog it will say the types of workouts to do pending on your goal.  For "tone" I would suggest mixing up the hiit and strength days  for sure.  Spicy circuits is a great one as its both a heart raiser and stregnth.  Have a look at teh schdule and let us know.  Remember always do whats fun for you too, we want you to enjoy this journey

  • @Carmel Mulvany thanks very much for your reply Carmel. I'm doing 5 days a week for the last 3 weeks so I will keep going. Really enjoying it 🤗

  • @Maeve Madden they are all fun, absolutely love working out now! Thank you I'm doing a mix of everything 5 days a week plus walking so I'd say I'm doing good and should start noticing a difference soon if I could stop eating so much rubbish!! 🙈

I read the blog and it was very helpful, thank you.. Where does Pilates fit in? What type of excerise would you call that. I usually do it twice a week. I might need to change it to once a week and do a hiit or spicy circuit instead?

  • @Michelle Kelly brilliant honey, so glad ur loving it like us!!! Xx
