Hello Queens,
I know this is mental health awareness week so I thought this may be a good time to share this with you all.
I am a Docotrate Counselling Psychologist Trainee. I am currently carrying out research to explore how socially anxious university male students, age 18-25, experience self-disclosure among friendships.
It is reported that 10-33% of university students experience social anxiety compared to 7-13% of the general population. It is also suggestions 18-36% of university students experience difficulties in forming relationships and experience discomfort in social situations!
My hope is by carrying out this research I will be able to gain insight into this experience, in order to better tailor psychological interventions to meet socially anxious male students needs more effectively. I also hope this research will help university counseling services to become more effective when reaching out to male students, who may be experiencing difficulties.
I am currently looking for volunteers to participate in my research study. Interviews would take place over zoom and last approximately 1 hour. I am attaching my research flyer below. If you know anyone who you feel like this research might be relevant too, please pass along my flyer to them or my email.
Anyone has any questions please contact me at KAC0627@my.londonmet.ac.uk
Thank you queens!!!!
