I did the early bird spicy circuits this morning which I think is the same (I haven’t done spicy circuits before) - serious spice, it was good, I was sweating buckets 😂🌶🌶🌶
Hi everyone,
I have just joined and need some help. I used to exercise and eat well until I had a mental breakdown followed by a marriage breakdown. I am now 4 stone heavier and despite hoping and praying to get going I can't and I don't know why (I think I'm a lazy, fat sloth like creature)
Why am I stopping myself eating well and exercising???? Any ideas??
Hey @Joanne Latham - welcome to Queens Don't Quit!!! You will not regret it!!
Now I'll start with- your weight is not a measure of who you are as a person, it is literally just a metric or a part of you like your hair or your height. None of this changes who you are on the inside, but I fully realise how it can represent something about you that you might struggle with.
So this is your first step to getting going- and you should be proud of that, it is THE hardest step! You have gone through such a difficult time- such a difficult time during a bloody pandemic- so try go gentle on yourself. Things are tough, times are tough!!
These workouts are so much fun and addictive, and cater for all levels. If you go into the blog tab Maeve did a blog a few weeks ago about the different workouts, and which ones you might consider choosing, depending on your personal goal.
Also this is a safe space, so always feel like you can reach out here for help, guidance, support, cheerleading etc etc. Fabulous bunch of ladies on here!
What I tend to do on a weekly basis is select the classes I want to attend, I write them down in my diary and then when I finish them I cross them out- I get such a sense of achievement in crossing stuff out! I try not to rely on just being motivated to do a class but to follow a routine and try and stick to it- I know on Tuesday I like the Fit & Fierce class and Combat Queens, and it doesn't occur to me that I might not attend them because I'm not in the mood for it, they are in my diary and are part of my routine and I get them done!
There is a yoga and mindfullness class once a week on a Sunday which I highly recommend- great gentle stretch, but also so soothing for the mind and the soul.
Worth looking into external help such as counselling, CBT etc too- they can help in terms of altering a mindset, or changing a viewpoint etc. Part of a toolbox to keep you keeping on.
@Julianne Hickey @Jennifer Manley Spicy Circuits is such a good class!!! Really tough but so great! Yeah Julianne the class this morning was pretty much a Spicy Circuits class alright. Love that we constantly are facing new challenges and keeping being pushed.
@Sharon Scully your words mean the world to me, thank you x
@Joanne Latham You're most welcome. Everyone is living a story at the moment, some far more extreme than others and sharing it can be such an initial burden unloaded (and I don't mean that in a competitive way about individual difficulties, more just always know- you are not alone). Feel free to reach out to me at any stage if you need it! You can do this x
