Covid hair loss | MaeveMadden

Covid hair loss

  • Has anyone else lost hair? I had covid in July and my hair is falling out. I am devastated. I am very stressed at the moment so it could be that but I have also heard that it might be a long covid symptom?

  • @Claire McDaid oh claire i'm sorry to hear that . ive not had it but i do suffer with thinning hair , ive started using philip kingsley products, he does a scalp toner to stimulate hair growth an i've noticed new hair coming an my hair growing faster . i also take supplements with iron in . your hairdresser will be best person to ask but stress is probably the culprit . xx

  • @karen louise . Thanks for the reply. I am sorry to hear that you have experienced thinning hair, it is so upsetting. I am glad that it is starting to grow back. I will look into that shampoo. I have started taking some supplements but I don't think they have iron in them. Waiting for blood test results. The Internet says that hair loss can be caused by covid but I dunno how common it is. Probably is stress 💔

  • @Claire McDaid Hey there, love, I am so sorry that you are experiencing that,  but you do not need to stress, I had covid last year and I had similar problem, moreover to tell the truth my taste has not been the same ever since. I got couple of consultation with doctors and I started using vitamins - B12, B6 (rubbing into the roots of my hair) basically almost all vitamin B stimulates our blood circulation, it is not a quick fix, you will see results in 3 or 4 months, maybe earlier, depends, but you have no idea how many new, growing hair I have on my head. I used it almost every single day. And please stop the stressing it can cause more hair loss. Sending lots of love

  • @Claire McDaid Hiya, this actually happened to my Mam. She had Covid during first lockdown, then started to lose her hair during the summer. By Christmas it had stopped falling out and begun to grow back. She went to see a specialist recently as it's been happening again, so if you can get it checked out do, they can determine which type of hair loss it is and help with treatment from there. I've heard great things about an Irish business called Trua, they help with hair loss but they also need your full blood results and category of hair loss before having a consultation. Bets of luck x

  • @Mari RuisPiri thanks for taking the time to reply. It makes me feel better to know that it will get better. I will get some B vitamins. I am trying not to stress but I have so much going on that it is hard Xxx

  • @Rebecca Mulcahy I got my full blood results today and everything is normal thank goodness. Your poor mam. I hope she gets something to help. I am. In Ireland so I will check out that company. Thanks x

  • @Claire McDaid I have thinning hair but not Covid related. It is awful. I use energising shampoos, conditioners, scalp tonics and masques aswell as vitamins. It does help. I don't know if you are based in Ireland but Trua hair (they have an Instagram page aswell) is brilliant at giving advice on all types of hair loss. They recently had a story about a woman who had experienced hair loss after Covid and the results she had with a treatment plan they helped her with.

  • @Josephine Moore I am so sorry to hear that you are experiencing the same thing. It is awful dreading to go in the shower because you end up with handfuls of hair. I hope you find a plan that works.

Yes, I am in Ireland. Someone else mentioned that company so I definitely need to contact them.

I am in Donegal and our house is one of the ones with defective blocks. I am sure you have heard about it? I have done loads of press about it . It is an absolute nightmare. 💔💔💔
