QDQ Mommies - Core & Pelvic floor Challenge? | MaeveMadden

QDQ Mommies - Core & Pelvic floor Challenge?

  • I have my first baby 16months ago and my core strength still hasn't come back to itself fully....

I'm LOVING the new classes for the 4 week challenge. I don't think I'll manage 4 workouts a week, but I'm going to try and get the 15min pelvic floor, 15min abs and maybe a pilates/core workout done a week as a "post baby core rebuild" challange?

    Anyone with me? :)

  • @Katie McCarthy im 10 weeks post partum and have muscle separation after csection. Definitely interested in these classes too to see will they make a difference

  • @Amanda Noonan Congratulations! and ouch about the muscle separation 😕! Hope the healing is going well!

I've started doing a bit of skipping every now and again to boost my fitness and the pelvic floor DEFINATELY is not the same.....fingers crossed Sinead's classes go a bit towards helping that too! 😅

  • Katie I am 7 years post partum 😄 but I am 100% with you for the core focus for this challenge. Really happy that we have a pelvic floor focused class introduced and I am planning on adding it to after each of my workouts for the four weeks! Not sure where you are and if the after care has imporved but when I had my last (10lb) baby the aftercare in terms of pelvic floor and core healing was non existent. I feel like all women should have a physio therapy session with a specialist after birth. Its just brushed over!

Looking forward to doing more than ten jump jacks in a row without fear! 🙌

  • @Ciara Franklin oh 100%. Zero aftercare! I also had a 10lb baby - it's no joke! My saving grace was I had very bad SPD so my physio gave me a few exercises to do for my pelvic floor alongside my SPD recovery bits. But there's so much to deal with being a new mum it pretty much faded to the background! Just need to get back on it now!

love the idea of adding them to the end of your workouts! I'm so glad they're all saved to the library so we can go back to them as many times as we want. Ideal!

  • Same 5 month postpartum trying my best to do the 4.my body literally shakes on the ab parts but I just try and do even 2 hard sets and then the easier option for one of the sets.. only still able for the jumping jacks first thing in the morning where I havnt had a drink all night.🤣🤭

  • @Sarah Lay Fair play Sarah going for the 4! No bother to you! I know - I really need to start doing some planks just as a general thing tbh, but also really looking forward to Sineads new core control class!

And yes - anything "bouncy" is such a risk! Not something I was prepared for!! 😅

  • Hi Queens!

Just catching up on the forum now! How did you find the class? I'd love to hear your feedback!

  • @Sinead Corcoran I loved it. Have added it to the end of my workouts today and yesterday as well and can already feel myself being able to engage better. Loved the focus on the breath as it helps with engaging the pelvic floor and knowing if you are 'doing it right'.  Defintely think I have alot of work to do as I feel my pelvic floor is so weak so really glad to have this class on QDQ!
